Big Big News!!! the first peek.

There is something big.. Very big… huge! and please make sure you read to he bottom of the page, because there is a real treat waiting for some lucky people

We have kept it under strict secrecy.. James Bond on his most devious and infiltrating mood couldn’t find out what has been going on in a far away sea somewhere in Second Life. But……….. last night I had the huge honour and pleasure of being admitted to a very small band of people to have seen it!!!! What Caf has been working on for many many months.. making him bald in the process… Yes Ladies and Gentlemen I have seen the future.. and it is simply AWSOME!!!!

You know of course I am referring to the ACA version 3.0!!!

Last night Caf whispered to me..”wanna come and see what I got in my hands?”  Normally I do not pick up on such requests, but it was irresistable.. When I TP’ed to the location there she was.. a normal everyday ACA nothing special.

Caf began to explain to me what he has been up to all this time.. We all know about the spinniker that will adorn the ACA that’s old news. It has of course been perfectly sculpted by Neron (congrats for that. it’s a great job well done!). but what was special was the way the boat had under its sailing prim box.

Caf has truly been hard at work. stripping the scripts down and rebuilding them.. Why? you ask.. The ACA has been in existence for many years. With many scripters working on the sailing engine. In all that time it has grown a little rounder.. a little pudgy. If this is to be the best sailing boat in SL it needed to be tuned. honed and streamlined. Caf has taken incredible care to fully understand and work the engine. My hat has to go off to him for that alone.

But that wasnt it.. He also has made the sail a single prim!! no more three prim main sail and two prim jib.

More importantly.. there is how the boat moves in the water.. The boat takes full advantage of the wwc.. its like a fizz in the water (no bad thing) It moves with the water.. when not under sail it gently rock with the waves. Its effected by the tidal flow.  When under sail it really does feel like your sailing. In fact i did have to reach for the sea-sick bag once or twice. the feel is so lifelike. the wwc really was the way to go with this boat.

There is more to come from the development but that’s all i feel we should share with you for the moment. ( like any good striptease artist I will  leave something for your imagination…….. apparently)

Now.. here comes the exciting part.. As you know the Sail for Life and the Relay for Life events will soon be on us. At ACA we really are on board with this. So we are putting up a special auction lot.. Each event will have one ACA Beta model up for sale. If this wasnt good enough we will invite the winning bidder to come on board with us to join us in the Beta team..

Thats right you will not only get a boat ahead of general release.. but you get a say in how the ACA 3.0 is developed!! ok. so get saving.. this is truly a once in a second lifetime event!!! We only have a very small development team of beta sailors made up from a very select number of experienced sailors. The next could be you!!!
